Sketch of the Week: Hermes, the Masterthief and Messenger of the Gods

£150.00

Ink on Newsprint paper- A3 size

«ΕΡΜΗΣ, Ο ΜΕΓΑΣ ΚΛΕΦΤΗΣ ΚΑΙ ΑΓΓΕΛΙΟΦΟΡΟΣ ΤΩΝ ΘΕΩΝ»

This week’s sketch delves into the divine mischief of Olympus. From my Myth and/or Mythology.. series comes a striking ink study of Hermes, the Masterthief and Messenger of the Gods—his title boldly inscribed in Greek capitals as a nod to his origin and enduring legend. Drawn on beautiful, raw newsprint paper, the piece exudes an ancient, rustic elegance. The textured surface gives the ink a softness and immediacy, as if the god himself had just dashed this off in the margins of a myth.

This Hermes is both light-footed and shadow-dwelling—a symbol of movement, messages, and divine disruption.

Look out for more mythic reinterpretations in the coming weeks.
